What is a steroid injection?
A steroid, sometimes called corticosteroid or cortisone is a strong anti inflammatory medicine which can be injected into joints or in the area of soft tissues that are inflamed. It usually starts to work within a few days and improvements can last for many months.

Chris Ireland & Soliman Abdelrahman work together to provide the private steroid injection service at Trent Bridge Physio. They are both HCPC registered Physiotherapists who have been working clinically at Advanced Practice level for many years. They are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and have studied at Masters Level to achieve the qualifications and skills required to provide medication prescriptions and steroid injections.

Injection procedure

Simply begin by completing the Steroid Injection Health & Consent Form by clicking the button below and Chris will be in touch as soon as possible.

Have a face to face or telephone consultation to discuss your complaint(s), understand the risks and benefits of the treatment, answer any questions you have and complete the required medication prescription.

Purchase your steroid medicine from a pharmacy of your choice or select to have the medicine delivered to your home (the medicine cost is currently around £10).

Attend your face to face injection appointment ensuring you bring your steroid medicine with you.

This procedure is commonly completed within a few days of contacting us.
